Mosca “preoccupata” per il raid aereo israeliano in Siria
L’aviazione di Tel Aviv ha colpito un centro di ricerca militare a nord-ovest di Damasco. In un primo momento si è parlato di un convoglio militare siriano, che trasportava missili – di fabbricazione russa – in territorio libanese per Hezbollah. Mosca: “violazione inaccettabile” di Stato sovrano; Damasco: atto di “arroganza e aggressione”.
Mosca (AsiaNews/Agenzie) - Mosca ha manifestato "preoccupazione" per il controverso raid aereo di Israele in Siria, sottolineando che attacchi di questa natura costituiscono una "violazione inaccettabile" della Carta delle Nazioni Unite. L'esercito di Damasco afferma che ieri alcuni caccia di Tel Aviv hanno colpito un centro di ricerca militare a Jamraya, periferia nord-ovest della capitale siriana; al contempo, smentisce con forza la notizia - rilanciata da media israeliani e funzionari statunitensi - secondo cui l'obiettivo sarebbe stato un convoglio che trasportava armamenti verso il Libano. Per gli esperti il carico era composto da una partita di missili anti-aerei, di fabbricazione russa (SA-7), destinati ai militanti sciiti di Hezbollah.
Durante i 22 mesi di guerra civile in Siria, che ha causato circa 60mila vittime, Mosca si è più volte rifiutata di prendere le distanze dal presidente Bashar al-Assad. Commentando l'attacco, il ministero russo degli Esteri ha sottolineato che "se l'informazione è confermata, si tratta di un attacco non provocato" su un territorio "sovrano". Ciò rappresenta "una violazione alla Carta Onu" ed è "inaccettabile, nulla può giustificarlo".
Fonti di Tel Aviv riferiscono di aver informato preventivamente Washington del raid aereo, che il governo di Damasco ha bollato come un atto di "arroganza e aggressione". Esso potrebbe alimentare i venti di guerra in tutta la regione mediorientale; l'Iran ha infatti più volte ammonito che un attacco in territorio siriano è trattato alla stessa stregua di "un attacco diretto" sul proprio territorio e Teheran si dice pronta a rispondere.
Il governo israeliano ha ripetutamente avanzato i timori di un traffico di armi - missili e armi chimiche - fra Damasco e il Libano, destinato ai miliziani di Hezbollah. A conferma del clima di tensione, l'esercito di Beirut e le forze interne di sicurezza riferiscono di una "maggiore attività" dei caccia di Tel Aviv nelle ultime settimane, con una progressiva escalation "nelle ultime ore".
