How many wounds are inflicted upon humanity by evil! Wars, violence, economic conflicts that hit the weakest, greed for money, Love of power, corruption, divisions, crimes against human life and against creation! Our personal sins: our failures in love and respect towards God, towards our neighbour and towards the whole of creation. Jesus on the Cross feels the whole weight of the evil, and with the force of God's love he conquers it, he defeats it with his resurrection. Dear friends, we can all conquer the evil that is in us and in the world, with Christ, with the force of good! Do we feel weak, inadequate, powerless? But God is not looking for powerful means, it is through the Cross that he has conquered evil! We must not believe the Evil One when he tells us, you can do nothing to counter violence, corruption, injustice, your sins! We must never grow accustomed to evil! With Christ we can transform ourselves and the world. We must bear the victory of Christ's Cross to everyone everywhere, we must bear this great love of God. In Holy Week "we live the highest point of this journey, this loving plan that runs throughout the entire history of the relationship between God and humanity. Jesus enters Jerusalem to take the final step, in which His whole live is summarized: He gives Himself totally, He keeps nothing for Himself, not even His life. At the Last Supper, with His friends, He shares the bread and distributes the chalice "for us." The Son of God is offered to us, He consigns His Body and his Blood into our hands to be with us always, to dwell among us. And on the Mount of Olives, as in the trial before Pilate, He puts up no resistance, He gifts Himself: He is the Suffering Servant foretold by Isaiah, who stripped himself unto death".
" Jesus - he said- does not live this love that leads to sacrifice passively or as a fatal destiny; certainly He does not hide His deep human commotion in the face of a violent death, but He entrusts Himself with full confidence to the Father. Jesus voluntarily consigned Himself to death to respond to the love of God the Father, in perfect union with His will, to demonstrate His love for us. On the Cross, Jesus "loved me and gave Himself for me" (Gal 2:20). Each of us can say, "He loved me and gave Himself for me." Everyone can say that "for me". What does this mean for us? It means that this is my, your, our path. Living Holy Week following Jesus not only with the emotions of the heart; living Holy Week following Jesus means learning how to come out of ourselves - as I said on Sunday - to reach out to others, to go to the outskirts of existence, to be the first to move towards our brothers and sisters, especially those who are most distant, those who are forgotten, those who are most in need of understanding, consolation and help. "God - he added - stepped outside of Himself to come among us, He pitched His tent among us to bring the mercy of God that saves and gives hope. He does not ask these things, he asks for nothing. He goes to his aid: This is how God thinks. God thinks like the shepherd who gives his life to defend and save his sheep.".
"What a pity, so many parishes are closed!". "Our parishes, movements, associations, must "step outside" towards others, to draw close to them so we can bring the light and joy of our faith". " Always step outside yourself! And with the love and tenderness of God, with respect and patience, knowing that we put our hands, our feet, our hearts, but then it is God who guides them and makes all our actions fruitful!".

Prima udienza generale di Francesco, dedicata all'inizio del Triduo pasquale. "Sulla croce Gesù «mi ha amato e ha consegnato se stesso per me». Ciascuno di noi può dire: 'Mi ha amato e ha consegnato se stesso per me'. Ciascuno può dire questo 'per me'". Appello perché "cessino immediatamente le volenze ed i saccheggi e si trovi quanto prima una soluzione politica alla crisi" che vive la Repubblica centrafricana.
Città del Vaticano (AsiaNews) - "Uscire alla ricerca della pecorella smarrita", "uscire da se stessi, da un modo di vivere la fede stanco e abitudinario", "uscire incontro agli altri, soprattutto quelli più lontani, quelli che sono dimenticati, quelli che hanno più bisogno di comprensione, di consolazione, di aiuto", "uscire sempre con amore e con la tenerezza di Dio" che "non aspetta", ma "fa sempre il primo passo". Vivere la Settimana santa "uscendo" verso gli altri è l'argomento al quale papa Francesco dedica la catechesi, in parte improvvisata, per la prima udienza generale del suo pontificato, nella quale torna a ripetere che raccoglie "con grande riconoscenza e venerazione" il testimone dalle mani di Benedetto XVI. "Dopo la Pasqua - aggiunge - riprenderemo le catechesi dell'Anno della fede".
Udienza generale in piazza san Pietro, in una giornata di sole. Anche oggi il Papa passa con la jeep scoperta tra i 20mila presenti. Molte bandiere di ogni parte del mondo. Francesco parla solo in italiano: a differenza del passato, le sintesi della catechesi e lo stesso saluto alle persone di diverse lingue vengono letti o tradotti dai lettori. Anche in spagnolo, la lingua madre di Francesco.
"Con la Domenica delle palme - dice - siamo entrati nella Settimana santa. Ma cosa può voler dire vivere la Settimana Santa per noi? Che cosa significa seguire Gesù nel suo cammino sul Calvario verso la Croce e la Risurrezione? Nella sua missione terrena, Gesù ha percorso le strade della Terra Santa; ha chiamato dodici persone semplici perché rimanessero con Lui, condividessero il suo cammino e continuassero la sua missione; le ha scelte tra il popolo pieno di fede nelle promesse di Dio. Ha parlato a tutti, senza distinzione, ai grandi e agli umili, al giovane ricco e alla povera vedova, ai potenti e ai deboli; ha portato la misericordia e il perdono di Dio; ha guarito, consolato, compreso; ha dato speranza; ha portato a tutti la presenza di Dio che si interessa di ogni uomo e ogni donna, come fa un buon padre e una buona madre verso ciascuno dei suoi figli. Dio non ha aspettato che andassimo da Lui, ma è Lui che si è mosso verso di noi, senza calcoli, senza misure. Dio è così: Lui fa sempre il primo, lui si muove verso di noi. Gesù ha vissuto le realtà quotidiane della gente più comune: si è commosso davanti alla folla che sembrava un gregge senza pastore; ha pianto davanti alla sofferenza di Marta e Maria per la morte del fratello Lazzaro; ha chiamato un pubblicano come suo discepolo; ha subito anche il tradimento di un amico. In Lui Dio ci ha dato la certezza che è con noi, in mezzo a noi. «Le volpi hanno le loro tane e gli uccelli del cielo i loro nidi, ma il Figlio dell'uomo non ha dove posare il capo». Gesù non ha casa perché la sua casa è la gente, siamo noi, la sua missione è aprire a tutti le porte di Dio, essere la presenza di amore di Dio".
Nella Settimana Santa " viviamo il vertice di questo cammino, di questo disegno di amore che percorre tutta la storia dei rapporti tra Dio e l'umanità. Gesù entra in Gerusalemme per compiere l'ultimo passo, in cui riassume tutta la sua esistenza: si dona totalmente, non tiene nulla per sé, neppure la vita. Nell'Ultima Cena, con i suoi amici, condivide il pane e distribuisce il calice per noi. Il Figlio di Dio si offre a noi, consegna nelle nostre mani il suo Corpo e il suo Sangue per essere sempre con noi, per abitare in mezzo a noi. E nell'orto degli Ulivi, come nel processo davanti a Pilato, non oppone resistenza, si dona; è il Servo sofferente preannunciato da Isaia che spoglia se stesso fino alla morte".
"Gesù - ha detto - non vive questo amore che conduce al sacrificio in modo passivo o come un destino fatale; certo non nasconde il suo profondo turbamento umano di fronte alla morte violenta, ma si affida con piena fiducia al Padre. Gesù si è consegnato volontariamente alla morte per corrispondere all'amore di Dio Padre, in perfetta unione con la sua volontà, per dimostrare il suo amore per noi. Sulla croce Gesù «mi ha amato e ha consegnato se stesso per me». Ciascuno di noi può dire: 'Mi ha amato e ha consegnato se stesso per me'. Ciascuno può dire questo 'per me'".
"Che cosa significa tutto questo per noi? Significa che questa è anche la mia, la tua, la nostra strada. Vivere la Settimana Santa seguendo Gesù non solo con la commozione del cuore, vivere la Settimana Santa seguendo Gesù vuol dire imparare ad uscire da noi stessi - come dicevo domenica scorsa - per andare incontro agli altri, per andare verso le periferie dell'esistenza, muoverci noi per primi verso i nostri fratelli e le nostre sorelle, soprattutto quelli più lontani, quelli che sono dimenticati, quelli che hanno più bisogno di comprensione, di consolazione, di aiuto".
"Dio - ha aggiunto - è uscito da se stesso per venire in mezzo a noi, ha posto la sua tenda tra noi per portarci la misericordia di Dio che salva e dona speranza. Anche noi, se vogliamo seguirlo e rimanere con Lui, non dobbiamo accontentarci di restare nel recinto delle 99 pecore, dobbiamo 'uscire', cercare con Lui la pecorella smarrita, quella più lontana". "Qualcuno potrebbe dire: ma padre 'non ho tempo', 'ho tante cose da fare', 'è difficile', 'che cosa posso fare io con le mie poche forze?'". "Spesso ci accontentiamo di qualche preghiera, di una messa domenicale distratta e non costante, di qualche gesto di carità, ma non abbiamo il coraggio di 'uscire' per portare Cristo".
Lo stesso san Pietro "non appena Gesù parla di passione, morte e risurrezione, di dono di se', di amore verso tutti lo prende in disparte e lo rimprovera. Quello che dice Gesù sconvolge i suoi piani, appare inaccettabile, mette in difficoltà le sicurezze che si era costruito, la sua idea di Messia. E Gesù guarda i discepoli e rivolge a Pietro forse una delle parole più dure dei Vangeli: 'Va' dietro a me, Satana! Perché tu non pensi secondo Dio, ma secondo gli uomini'". "Dio pensa sempre con misericordia; Dio pensa come il padre che attende il ritorno del figlio e gli va incontro, lo vede venire quando è ancora lontano, segno che lo aspettava, andava tutti i giorni sulla terrazza della sua casa; Dio pensa come il samaritano che non passa vicino al malcapitato commiserandolo, ma soccorrendolo senza chiedere se è ebreo o samaritano, ricco o povero, senza chiedere nulla in cambio; Dio pensa come il pastore che dona la sua vita per difendere e salvare le pecore".
"Fa pena vedere tante parrocchie chiuse", "parrocchie, movimenti, associazioni" debbono "uscire incontro agli altri". "C'è tanto bisogno di uscire sempre con amore e con la tenerezza di Dio, noi mettiamo i nostri piedi, le nostre mani, il nostro cuore, ma è Dio che li guida. C'è tanto bisogno di portare la presenza viva di Gesù misericordioso e ricco di amore, di portare un raggio del suo amore a quanti incontriamo!".
Alla prima udienza, anche il primo appello, dedicato alla Repubblica centrafricana, con l'assicurazione della preghiera per quanti soffrono e la richiesta che "cessino immediatamente le volenze ed i saccheggi e si trovi quanto prima una soluzione politica alla crisi".

Inoltre, sempre più tycoon legati alla politica scelgono di mandare all'estero i propri capitali per evitare i controlli dei dipartimenti interni.
La conferma viene dai funzionari di almeno quattro diverse province del Paese. Parlando con il South China Morning Post, uno di loro che proviene dal Fujian spiega: "Le cantine degli edifici pubblici sono state rinnovate per ospitare gli chef dei ristoranti migliori. Ora sembrano più lussuose dei ristoranti a 5 stelle, con sale private e pasti prelibati. In questo modo non c'è bisogno di andare fuori. Questo non succede solo da noi ma in molti altri posti".

Le sale private sono anche perfette per incontrare industriali e affaristi, che usano il Partito - dopo aver versato le tangenti del caso - per ottenere permessi e appalti.
Inoltre, sempre più funzionari di alto grado e industriali cooptati dalla politica stanno mandando all'estero i propri capitali. Dopo l'annuncio di Xi Jinping - che ha dichiarato di voler introdurre l'obbligo della trasparenza finanziaria per i dirigenti comunisti - il volume di denaro spedito all'estero è aumentato del 40 %. Per ora le mete preferite sono Hong Kong e gli Stati Uniti.
Lanciata in campagna elettorale, la "crociata anti-corruzione" del leader della Quinta generazione comunista non ha ancora dei tratti precisi. Il presidente - e Segretario del Pcc - ha più volte avvertito che "non saranno tollerati" scandali e ruberie ai danni del Paese, ma fino a ora non ha messo in piedi un vero sistema di controllo e prevenzione. Diversi esperti nazionali hanno commentato che la campagna "è inutile se non si rispetta lo stato di diritto in tutto il Paese".

Fearing Xi's crackdown, Communist Party goes (lavishly) underground
After the new president announced zero tolerance against bribes and waste in the party leadership, many officials turn canteens into five-star restaurants to maintain their lifestyle. Meanwhile, "dirty" money goes abroad.
Beijing (AsiaNews) - In order to dodge the crusade against the luxury and corruption launched by the Communist Party under newly elected President Xi Jinping, top officials are using canteens for "secret" meetings and live high on the hog. At the same time, more and more politically connected high flyers are sending their money abroad to avoid internal audits.
Officials from four different regions spoke to the South China Morning Post about the trend. In Fujian province for example, many canteens in government departments have been renovated, hiring chefs from the region's finest restaurants.
One official said the renovated canteens were as luxurious as five-star restaurants, with private rooms and fine-dining chefs. This way, there was "no need for officials to go out to dine under the eyes of the public because everything can be done within the government compound".
"Such renovation is not only happening in Fujian, but in many provinces around the country," he added.
Another reason for the underground activity is that if a government bureau fails to spend its entire annual budget it will receive less money the next year. "We can't spend money outside of the bureau, and we can't dine outside," another official said, so renovation was an easy way to make sure the annual budget was used up.
In addition, more and more senior officials and politically connected business people are sending their money abroad.
After Xi Jinping announced greater financial transparency for Communist leaders, the amount of money sent abroad jumped by 40 per cent with Hong Kong and the United States as the most popular destinations.
Launched during his rise to power as the leader of the fifth generation of Communist party leaders, Xi's anti-corruption crusade lacks focus.
As president and party secretary, he warned that scandals and embezzlement would not be tolerated; however, he has not yet set up a system of controls.
In fact, various Chinese experts have warned that the campaign would be useless if it is not based on the rule of law.
